It is honestly an awesome experience to be a part of the Pearl Street family. I remember during one of our first meetings someone said, "I'm tired of playing church." It was as if they were reading my mind. I couldn't have said it better myself. Their statement is a common conversation I’m hearing from many people in church and particularly those who’ve left the organized church these days. "Religious activity is leaving us empty!"

One of my primary goals as Lead Pastor is to help us sort through the "religious stuff" and focus on a ministry grounded in "relationships." It seems that somewhere in the process of “being churched,” people forgot that Jesus continuously challenged religious activity. His call was to follow him as he lived a practical and relevant faith in the world. His example was a life lived in such a way that it transformed the lives of those around him. That’s the type of ministry I want to personally pursue and desire to lead our church towards.

If you are one who is tired of playing church and want a real faith that is lived out with real people, then come join us. I promise you, you will not find this kind of faith boring. And if you are anything like me, you’ll discover that this is the kind of faith you have been looking for all along.

Serving Pearl Street Baptist Church as the Worship Leader has been a great honor. It is awesome working with such fine musicians who love and serve the Lord faithfully. Seeing a church family want to make a real difference in their own lives and in the community is inspiring.
