Introduction

A. This command of Christ = is commonly called “the Great Commission.”

&nbs= p; It was probably first given to the apostles.

(Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46-49, John 20:21-23)<= /o:p>

&nbs= p; It was probably then given to the 500 witnesses of His resurrection on a mounta= in in Galilee.

&nbs= p; (Matthew 28:7, 10, 16, 18-20; 1 Corinthians 15:6= )

&nbs= p; It wa= s then repeated just prior to His ascension to the eleven apostle= s and perhaps over 100 others. (Acts 1:8, and 1:2-3, 12= -15)

B. All who believe = in Christ are to be His witnesses—we are commissioned!

But sadly because of disobedience some have called it “the Great Ommission!”

1. We Are Authorized

&#= 8220;All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore.” Matthew 28:18-19a HCSB

2. We Are Sent

B. Equally So We Are Sent by Christ Into t= he World &= nbsp; to Save Sinners

3. We Are Given A Challenging Vision

̶= 0;Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.” Mark 16:15 NLT

        B.    Teaching All Nations

5.    We Have A Demanding Task

6.     We Have the Promise of His Presence

       ̶= 0;And remember, I am with you always to the end of the age.” &n= bsp;        (Matthew 28:20b HCSB)

        A.    His Presence Encourages Us

        B.    His Presence Reassures Us

        C.    His Presence Assures Us



            =        “To the end of the age.”
