Two different Hebrew words:

“S= ay” implies a mild form of speech.

“The house of Jacob” refers to the wome= n of the nation.

“Explain” is a rougher word implying fi= rmness or even harshness “Israelites” here is speaking of the <= u>men of the nation.

Striking Features To= Impress the Nation with God’s= Majesty and the Holiness of His Law

The reminder of what God ha= d done to the Egyptians (19:3-4)

The striking setting or sce= ne of the high granite mountain

The powerful thunder= , fire and smoke on the mountain

The powerful shaking= or earthquake

The prohibition given to Mo= ses for the people not to approach God
