AWANA is an international youth program offered by Pearl Street Baptist Church as a positive
influence in the development of young people.
The name - AWANA - is an acrostic for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, which is based
on II Timothy 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
